Datblygiad o Efydd | Development from Bronze
Fy mwriad ar gyfer Y WAL oedd gorchuddio arwynebedd y wal gyda ffigyrau bach wedi eu castio allan o blastr. Deilliai'r ffigyrau hyn o fowld a gymerais o ffigwr efydd a safai yn eu plith. Roedd y broses o gastio yn hir ag yn ailadroddus gyda nifer o ffactorau a all effeithio ar edrychiad pob cast. O ganlyniad mae pob ffigwr wedi datblygu siâp unigryw. Cymerai'r broses mowldio rhan annatod yn fy ngwaith. Er mwyn cwblhau’r darn hwn roedd yn rhaid gwthio gallu’r mowldiau.
My intention for THE WALL was to cover the entire surface of the wall with small plaster cast figures. All of these figures originated from a mould taken from a bronze figure that stood in their midst. The process of casting was long and repetitive and numerous factors affected the outcome of each cast. As a result each individual developed distinctive features that defined them. Mould making is an integral process in my work. For this piece the process exhausted the mould in order to complete the required task.
